Alan Cassady is a native of Panama City, FL. He a graduate of Florida State University and Asbury Theological Seminary. He is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Ministry degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. During his 25 years of ministry he has served congregations in Panama City, FL; Monticello, KY; Montgomery and Andalusia, AL. He has been pastor of Woodbine since June of 2004. He is married to Penny, a Registered Nurse who is active in Abstinence Education in many local Schools. Together they have four children and two grandchildren.
Ben Drennan came to Woodbine after serving United Methodist Churches in Americus, Georgia, Brandon, Florida, and Vienna, Georgia. Growing up the son of a Naval Officer, Ben has lived many different places including Jacksonville, FL, Fairfax, VA, Montgomery, AL, and Tampa, FL. Ben attended Mercer University, in Macon, Georgia where he studied piano and cello, along with conducting and church music. Ben enjoys a wide variety of musical styles and genres and looks forward to incorporating many of them into the life of the church here at Woodbine. In his spare time, Ben enjoys boating, water sports, reading, graphic design, music composition, musical theatre and spending time spoiling his three nephews Andrew, John, and Matthew. In addition, Ben is an FAA licensed pilot and enjoys flying his hot air balloon, FLASH, whenever he gets the chance. worship@excitingwoodbine.org
Youth Pastor
Derek Oswald is a native to the Pensacola/Pace area. He has been a member of the church since 2004 and now leads the ministry that he came from. Derek is currently seeking a degree in social work and plans to use his education to continue to work with youth around the world. In summer 2007 Derek also worked as a missionary in Ecuador. “I considered myself blessed to be my age and to have seen the things that I have seen, to have done the things I’ve done, and to be able to serve all those whom I serve.” Derek’s desire is to see a generation of young people stand up in the name of the Lord and not be ashamed of the gospel that sets us all free.
Brenda Lewis is a native of the Pensacola area and a graduate of Leavell College in New Orleans, Louisiana with a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministries. She has served in the past as Director of a Preschool in one of our local churches. She and her husband, Michael H. Lewis have a daughter and son-in-law, Sheena & Richard Faircloth, and a delightful granddaughter, Kinsley Grace. Brenda and Michael also own Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio in Pace. Brenda desires to see future generations grow in their knowledge of our Lord by providing exciting opportunities that build both faith and families.
Michele Marcantonio This is Michele’s third year as the Director of Children of Woodbine Preschool. Prior to this she was the Children’s Ministry Director.
Michele and David have been married for 9 years and have two children Tony (8) and Olivia (5). “I give God all the glory. I thank him every day that I can come to a ‘job’ that I love. I love the preschool team and love working with the children. I am truly blessed."
Sharon Glass is a native of Gainesville Florida, with a career in newspaper and mall marketing. She has also worked as a Publications Director for a local church and as the Director of a Children’s Home. In 1999 she took a position with the American Red Cross as Disaster Director for Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties where she remained until late 2004. She worked with Habitat for Humanity as Resource Development Director from 2004 until she retired in 2005. She currently serves as the Office Manager for Woodbine. Her responsibilities include all office duties, production and editing the Exciting Woodbine monthly newsletter, weekly bulletins and helping coordinate certain benevolence ministries.
Debbie Hutto is a native of Meridian, MS with a career in accounting. Debbie graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She has worked as a Staff Accountant at Wesley Health Systems in Hattiesburg, MS, and Burton, Canaday, and Moore CPA in Meridian, MS. Debbie also served as Regional Accounting Manager for the Southeast Region of Comcast Cable with responsibility for cable systems from Paducah, KY to Boca Raton, FL. Debbie currently serves as the Financial Manager for Woodbine. Debbie is married to Scott, a Gulf Power employee, since 1983. Together they have two children, Mel & Mark.
Matt Hayden joined the staff in 2006. His duties include caring for the building and assisting the staff with projects. He is 27 years old, born November 9, 1979. “I like to work here because everyone is very nice to me and I like the good people at church. We are the church together.”
Nursery Coordinator
Bonnie DeMara is the Nursery Coordinator for the youngest members of the church. Bonnie and her husband Dave moved to Pace in 2005 from Michigan and began attending Woodbine that October. Together they have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren. Deuteronomy 10:12-13“And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the LORD and His statutes which I command you today for your good?
